26th May 2020
On the 25th May the prime Minister announced  that all non-essential retail shop may be able to re-open from 15 June if the Government’s five tests are met and they follow the COVID-19 secure guidelines.

Businesses will only be able to open from this date once they have completed a risk assessment. They must have taken the necessary steps to become COVID-19 secure in line with the current Health and Safety legislation.
Our guidelines for re-opening are set out below.

Book your bridal appointmentWe have been working hard ready for confirmation that we can re-open our boutique.
The following guidelines have been put in place to protect all our bride’s and ourselves.

The boutique will open on an appointment only basis. The bride may choose one special guest to accompany them to the appointment. If the brides guest is from a different household, social distancing must be observed at all times.
It is very important that you MUST NOT attend the appointment if you have any symptoms e.g. a new persistent cough, a high temperature or loss/altered taste.

  • On arrival for you appointment at the boutique you will be asked to sanitize your hands. You will be given disposable gloves to wear for browsing and touching the dresses.
  • You are welcome to wear a face mask at all times during you appointment. We will have disposable masks available or you can wear you own.
  • If we are required to assist you with trying on your chosen dresses, we would ask that you also wear a mask.
  • If the brides guest is from the same household, we would ask that they dress the bride; we will be on hand to offer advice and to help with any fastening and adjustments. We will be wearing gloves and face protection for any contact closer than the required 2 metre distance.
  • There will also be petticoat slips available to wear under the wedding dresses if desired.
  • Anyone else you would have invited to attend you appointment, we will be offering a virtual appointment for your additional guests.
  • In between appointments we will deep clean all areas of the shop before the next appointment.
  • Unfortunately, we will not be able to offer our usual refreshments. Please bring a bottle of water or your own fizz and glasses!) to the appointment.
  • For bridesmaid appointments, we are still trying to find a way to keep to the guidelines and will update you regarding appointments where there would be more than 2 people involved.

We will keep you all updated on social media.
Stay safe and take care of yourselves and your families

With all our love
Belinda & Paula xx

Virtual Appointments

virtual wedding appointments

If you have underlying health conditions or would feel happier having a virtual appointment before visiting the boutique, we are happy to accomodate. During our virtual consultation we can discuss the styles you have in mind, the style of wedding you have in mind, including venue, colour theme etc. We can show you dresses we think you might like and put them on a shop mannequin for you. After the consultation we can send you images/videos of any you would like to see in more detail. When you feel ready for an appointment at the boutique just let us know and we can have you chosen dresses ready for you to try.

Bridesmaid Appointments

Unfortunately, at the moment bridesmaid appointments won’t be as we would would like them to be. Until the guidelines change, we will only be able to have the bride and one bridesmaid at a time in the shop. If you have more than one bridesmaid you might have to be a little bit inventive to involve everyone on the appointment!
Maybe the bridesmaids who aren’t in the shop can watch on video chat from the car they came in, that way they can all be involved in the appointment.

Alternatively, one bridesmaid could attend the appointment with the bride and the other bridesmaids are invited to a virtual appointment from their home. If there is a style everyone agrees they like, the other bridesmaids can individually arrange an appointment to try on at the shop.

We are in constant contact with our suppliers who are keeping us up to date on any changes regarding ordering and the delivery of dresses which have already been ordered.

New dresses already ordered

Deliveries of dresses already ordered are still on track to be delivered on the scheduled due date. If there is to be any change to this we will notify you.
We understand that many of our brides will either have to postpone their wedding or sadly cancel. If your wedding has been cancelled, unfortunately there is nothing we can do as the order has been placed and in production and therefore the balance payment will still be due when the dress arrives in-store.
Please contact us if you will have difficulty paying the final balance on your dress due to changes in your employment due to the current situation.

If your wedding has been postponed we are happy to store your dress until required.

Wedding Insurance

For those brides who bought a new wedding gown at Love Lace, you will have received in your goodie bag a leaflet from the BBSA (British Bridal Suppliers Association) This offers free insurance for your wedding dress up to £1000. If you signed up for this insurance when you bought your gown, it might be worth getting in touch to discuss any change in circumstances regarding your wedding.

Dress Alterations

If you are booked in with our recommended seamstress for your dress alterations, she may well have been in touch with you. Corinne is still honouring appointments but will only accept the bride attending the appointment and asks the bride to cancel if showing any of the highlighted symptoms.

If there has been any change to your wedding, please contact Corinne as soon as possible – 07712 454246

Preloved Agency Dresses

If you have purchased you dress from our Preloved Agency and your wedding cancelled, unfortunately we are unable to offer you assistance as we sold these dresses on behalf of someone else and the sellers have been paid.

If your wedding has been postponed we are happy to store your dress until required.
