Congratulations! You have got engaged and are looking forward to planning your wedding, visiting wedding venues, wedding dress shopping with the girls, exciting times! Then lockdown happens……..
These are difficult times but don’t let it take the shine off you wedding planning. You have all this time on your hands but how on earth do you go about planning a wedding when you can’t visit wedding venues, meet suppliers, visit bridal shops…..so what do you do?
Just because you are in lockdown, it does not mean your wedding planning has to stop. There are so many things that can be done now you have time to spare, so let’s get planning!
If you already have a wedding plan, look at your list and see if there is anything you can do whilst in lockdown. Maybe, there are still some suppliers you need to contact or maybe there are some do-it yourself items you can be getting on with.

Research wedding venues online. Some wedding venues are thinking out of the box and using technology to assist couples searching for a wedding venue. For example, Heaton House Farm are offering virtual tours of their venue every Wednesday at 6pm and Sunday at 4pm. If you are interested, contact them to register.
Owen House Barn are offering virtual viewings through Facetime or WhatsApp. I am sure many other venues will be finding ways to assist couple in finding their perfect venue during this time.
The team at Heaton House Farm are still there for you – from their homes and they’d love to help!
Many other wedding suppliers are also offering virtual appointments to discuss your wedding; so it is worth contacting the suppliers you are interested in booking for your wedding; don’t forget, they probably have time on their hands too!
There maybe some decorations you have decided you would like to make yourself to add a personal touch to your wedding. This is the perfect time to make a start!
So, you may not have all the ingredients for your creative task but with a little online research, you may be able to find what you are looking for. For instance, there are suppliers on Ebay and Etsy who work from home and will be able to post out items you need.
On you daily walk you could collect interesting leaves and press them when you get home. When dried these can be used for example, on table centre name cards or seating plan, or maybe to decorate jars for flowers or tea-lights, perfect for a boho barn wedding.
Create a wedding Pinterest board of ideas.
We understand how unsettling it is for all couples planning their wedding at this time, especially for those who have had to postpone their wedding. Just remember you special day will happen and will be even more special when the day finally arrives and you can spend it will the people you love.
Take care and stay safe x
